In silico analysis of the biodiversity of endophytic fungi isolated from the Brazilian Cerrado
收藏资源简介:
We present a study on endophytic microorganisms dwelling within the plant tissues of the Brazilian Cerrado biome, the second-largest biome in Brazil, known for its rich endemic flora and fauna. These endophytes form mutualistic interactions with plants and are renowned for their production of versatile compounds with applications in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. To investigate the phylogeny of these intriguing organisms, we conducted an in-silico analysis using GenBank-derived ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 sequences from cultivable endophytic fungi. Our findings revealed prominent genera such as Xylaria, Diaporthe, and Colletotrichum, consistently isolated from more than three plant species across seven articles spanning from 2012 to 2022. Notably, these articles primarily focused on bioprospecting bioactive compounds using culture-dependent methods. However, it's important to acknowledge that some endophytic diversity may remain undiscovered due to the limitations of artificial media for certain endophytes.
