To investigate microRNAs (miRNAs) involving in the regulation of the schistosome development and survival, we compared miRNA expression profiles of adult Schistosoma japonicum derived from yellow cattle and water buffalo using high-throughput sequencing with Illumina Hiseq Xten. Overall design: The water buffalo and yellow cattle were each challenged percutaneously with 1000 cercariae of S. japonicum.The miRNA expression profiles of four S. japonicum samples derived from yellow cattle and four S. japonicum samples obtained from water buffalo were sequenced with Illumina Hiseq Xten.
