VPRS 12385 Letters Inward regarding the Government Gazette

One of the key duties of the Government Printing Office was to administer the publication of the Victorian Government Gazette. This included organising submissions of articles, notices and advertisements, and managing subscriptions.This series consists of an inwards letter book. The letters were addressed to the Government Printers Office from members of the public, companies and government agencies alike. They regarded matters relating to the publication of the Victorian Government Gazette, including the establishment or alteration of subscription details, and the submission of advertisements, notices, and articles.The maintenance of Letters regarding the Government Gazette as a separate series was initiated by the Government Printing Office sometime between 1858 and 1866.
