Area of Interest

The C-NLOPB administers a scheduled land tenure system in which the Offshore Area has been divided into eight regions. Each region is categorized as either low activity, high activity, or mature, based on the level of Oil and Gas exploration and development activities. The rights issuance cycle timing depends on this categorization; Low activity – follows a four year cycle, high activity – follows a two year cycle, and mature – follows a one year cycle.
