Raw data behind tables and figures- Metabolomic analysis hydroxytyrosol intervention in individuals with prediabetes and overweight [Dataset]

The data in this dataset originate from a randomized, double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled nutritional intervention study. The two intervention groups consisted of a group receiving hydroxytyrosol (HT, 15 mg/day) and a placebo group (P) for a period of 16 weeks. Serum samples from the participants were analyzed by LC-MS in an untargeted metabolomics approach. The collected data represent log2 fold changes (post/pre) between the baseline visit (pre-intervention) and the final visit (post-intervention). Univariate analyses were performed to identify significantly altered metabolites, and multivariate analyses were conducted to determine the metabolites that best contributed to the separation model between the two groups. In addition, baseline characteristics including age, sex, weight, body mass index, fasting glucose, and glycated hemoglobin were recorded to verify that both groups were comparable before and after the intervention.
