Gut Clostridium sporogenes derived IPA suppresses osteoclast formation through activating PXR

Bone homeostasis is maintained by osteoclasts mediated bone resorption and osteoblasts mediated bone formation. Dramatic estrogen decrease in post-menopause women leads to overactivation of osteoclasts, impaired bone homeostasis and subsequent bone loss. Changes in gut microbiome are revealed to affect bone mineral density. However,we explore the function of gut microbiome in estrogen deficiency induced bone loss remains unknown.
