This dataset includes EEG recordings from elite athletes during a targeting task, designed to investigate the relationship between sustained attention and performance in athletic environments. Data analysis indicates that increased theta band activity in the Fz region of the brain is associated with successful performance in this targeting activity. The results suggest that elite athletes possess effective cognitive mechanisms for regulating attention and allocating mental resources. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the neural processes related to focus and performance under pressure, and they may have practical implications for sports coaching and training.
