Analysis of the efficacy of a homegrown mobile phase and Thin-layer chromatography for hospital-based assays

Poisoning is a common method for intentional and unintentional self-harm due to the easy availability of various poisons. The study of analytical toxicology has always been an integral part of the discipline of Forensic Sciences.
There is a need for a cost-effective method of qualitative analysis in resource-limited hospital settings, especially in resource-poor countries with high patient loads. We have identified a semi-universal solvent and reviewed the establishment of an ideal solvent system, which can be used for analysis at Toxicology labs in resource-poor settings.
