We used next generation sequencing to sequence the transcriptome of Salmonella and identify the genes that are differentially regulated throughout the infection of primary macrophages. Wild-type Salmonella was enriched from infected bone marrow-derived macrophages (C57BL/6J) and RNA was extrated from intracellular Salmonella at 0, 4, 8, and 12 hour post-infection. Transcriptome were sequenced using the Illumina NextSeq 2000 instrument and the processed data was used for differential gene expression analysis to identify the gene that are differentially regulated throught the infection.
