This dataset is an. xlsx file (data.xlsx,~0.06 MB, only Figure 1) containing quality indicators for higher education at the provincial level in China. From 2004 to 2020, the district covered 31 provincial-level administrative regions and passed an interim resolution once a year. The data comes from official sources including the Ministry of Education and the National Bureau of Statistics, with a focus on education input-output indicators. The processing steps include deduplication, standardization, and panel data integration using Microsoft Excel and Python (Pandas) on a standard office computer. There are no missing values in 527 data rows and 10 columns (year, province, and 8 education/economic indicators). A few extreme values appear in indicators such as National Population Proportion (NPOP), CSSCI, NOPA, and GDP, which stem from differences in regional economic and educational resources rather than data entry errors. All values are logically non negative and in line with real-world conditions.
