Mandibular micrognathia, also known as abnormally small mandible, is a common craniofacial defect , but the etiology and pathogenic mechanisms of micrognathia are not well understood. To elucidate the molecular mechanisms controlling mandible patterning and morphogenesis, we performed unbiased single-cell RNA-seq analysis of developing mouse mandibular tissues from E9.5, E10.5 and E11.5 wildtype embryos.
