资源简介:
This presentation delves into the intricate etiological aspects of hypersexuality among male individuals convicted of sexual offenses, offering insights into the psychological mechanisms that underpin this phenomenon. Grounded in psychodynamic theories, including attachment, ego, and drive theory, this study examines constructs such as sexual narcissism, sexual and social anxiety, depression, and aggressiveness, aiming to elucidate their role in hypersexuality in individuals who have committed sexual offenses. Data were collected from 199 male participants convicted of sexual offenses in Vienna, Austria, spanning the years 2018 to 2020. These participants were categorized into two subgroups based on the nature of their offenses: rape and child abuse. Our findings demonstrate that sexual narcissism, depression, and sexual anxiety emerged as robust predictors of hypersexuality, while sexual anxiety exhibited an inverse correlation. The model employed in this study explained between 43% and 49% of the variance in hypersexuality levels. Subgroup analyses revealed noteworthy differences within the offender groups. Furthermore, logistic regression analysis indicated that sexual skills and sexual anxiety were significant predictors in assigning the participants correctly to their respective subgroups. Incorporating HBI-19 subscales into the analysis underscored the significance of sexual skills and the subscale 'control' of the HBI-19, which encompasses sexual self-control problems, resulting in an overall enhancement of predictive accuracy. Remarkably, the model accurately classified offenders into their respective subgroups in 78% of cases. In conclusion, this study underscores the pivotal roles of sexual narcissism, specifically sexual exploitation, depression, and sexual anxiety as fundamental predictors of hypersexuality among convicted male sexual offenders. Our exploration of the underlying psychological mechanisms provides a deeper understanding of the pathways to different types of sexual offenses. unknown unknown
