In Europe, differences in potato yield per hectare to are huge from country to country and depend on the presence of potato diseases, climate, and also due to national agricultural standards. One of the most important diseases of potato is blackleg, caused by plant pathogenic pectolytic bacteria, belonging to the genus Pectobacterium and Dickeya.
