Subtidal Kelp Forest Swath Survey

Swath surveys were conducted to estimate density of invertebrates and macroalgae. Observations were performed by divers who went along each transect (30m x 2m x 2m ) noting species and abundance of each species. This was performed at 12 sites from the Hopkins (Monterey Peninsula) to Cambria Rock (San Luis Obispo). Each site consists of two areas within which lay two transects. Annual surveys were performed. Species lists of invertebrates and algae were amassed.
