Shotgun Metagenomic Profiling of Zooplankton Diversity and Functional Genomics in the Coastal Waters of the Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean

This study presents shotgun metagenomic data generated from a zooplankton sample collected from the coastal waters of Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean. The dataset provides a comprehensive overview of the taxonomic diversity and functional gene composition of marine zooplankton assemblages. Sequencing was performed on the Illumina HiSeq 4000 platform to investigate both species composition and metabolic potential within the planktonic ecosystem. This data contributes to understanding the molecular diversity, biogeography, and ecological roles of zooplankton in tropical marine environments.
