Smooth muscle cell plasticy and phenotypic switching play a prominent role in pathogenesis of multiple diseases. We used scRNAseq to look at the diversity of vascular smooth muscle cells in tumorigenesis. The syngeneic colon cancer cell line MC38 was subcutaneously implanted on the flanks of mice with fluorescent SMC lineage tracers. Initial datasets used the wildtype MC38 line implanted in an Myh11-eGFP tracing mouse, while subsequent experiments implanted MC38 transduced with either an shControl lentiviral plasmid or an shBST2 lentiviral plasmid into an Myh11-tdTomato lineage tracing mouse.
