This dataset provides the chromosome-scale nuclear genome assembly, mitochondrial genome sequence, and corresponding structural and functional annotation files for the two-spotted cricket, Gryllus bimaculatus (white-eyed mutant strain).G. bimaculatus is a key hemimetabolous model organism for developmental biology, neuroscience, regeneration, and comparative insect genomics. This resource represents a major improvement over the previous draft assembly reported by Ylla et al. (2021), providing a chromosome-scale reference genome and updated gene annotation for downstream comparative and functional analyses.The nuclear genome assembly was generated using a hybrid strategy combining Oxford Nanopore and PacBio HiFi long reads, followed by polishing with Illumina short reads and scaffolding with Hi-C chromatin conformation capture data. The associated annotation resources include gene models, transcript, CDS, and protein sequences, as well as functional annotation tables.On 2026-03-18, the dataset was updated from v2.2 to v2.3 to revise gene and transcript identifiers for improved consistency, compactness, and database compatibility. In this update, the underlying nuclear genome assembly sequence and mitochondrial genome files were not substantially changed; the main update concerns annotation identifiers and their linked derivative files.
