# When the brightest is not the best — data and code This repository contains the raw behavioural data and MATLAB analysis code used in: Takuma Morimoto, Robert J. Lee, and Hannah E. Smithson, “When the brightest is not the best: illuminant estimation from the geometry of specular highlights”. (in press), bioRxiv. https://doi.org/10.64898/2026.01.22.700600 Short summary:- Raw human behavioural data and helper files are in `rawdata/` and `data/`.- Analysis scripts and figure-generation routines are provided as MATLAB `.m` files. Further details are available in the GitHub repository: https://github.com/takuma929/brightest_is_not_the_best Quick usage: 1. Open MATLAB and change to the repository root.2.
