Endophytic fungi are considered as a warehouse of novel secondary metabolites with anticancerous and antimicrobial properties. All plants studied till date are said to be a host for one or more endophytic fungi. Thus, endophytic fungi isolated from medicinally important plants produces potential bioactive compounds which can be used as lead drug molecule. Chaetomium globosum is one such endophytic fungi isolated from a medicinal plant Plectranthus amboinicus L.
