Dataset — Differential Associations Between Positive and Negative AI Attitudes and Pre-Service Teachers' Self-Reported Computational Thinking Subskills

This dataset accompanies the study "Differential Associations Between Positive and Negative AI Attitudes and Pre-Service Teachers' Self-Reported Computational Thinking Subskills." It contains anonymized survey responses from 746 pre-service teachers enrolled across seven teacher-preparation programs (Early Childhood, Classroom, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Turkish Language, and Guidance & Counseling) at a Turkish faculty of education. Participants completed the General Attitudes Towards Artificial Intelligence Scale (GAAIS; positive and negative attitude subscales) and a Computational Thinking Scale measuring five subdimensions: creativity, algorithmic thinking, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving. The file also includes demographic variables (gender, program, program type, year of study). The workbook comprises three sheets: README (dataset overview and usage notes), Codebook (variable names, source scales, original Turkish items with English translations, response scales, and reverse-coding indicators), and Data (762 participant records; problem-solving items are already reverse-coded). Each participant is identified only by a sequential code (P0001–P0762); no personally identifying information is included. These data support the structural equation modeling, measurement-invariance, and robustness analyses reported in the associated article and may be reused, with attribution, for secondary analysis, replication, or teaching.
