The study included clinical cohort comparison and animal intervention experiments: Fecal metagenomic sequencing data from 10 children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and 10 typically developing (TD) children. Data from a valproic acid (VPA)-induced ASD rat model, including five groups: normal control, model, low-dose Bifidobacterium longum, high-dose Bifidobacterium longum, and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). This dataset contains supporting experimental data: Gut microbiota composition and differential genera between ASD and TD children Rat behavioral test data (three‑chamber social interaction test, open‑field test) Histological results (HE staining of hippocampus and colon) Intestinal tight junction‑related gene and protein expression (ZO‑1, Claudin‑1, Occludin) Gut untargeted metabolomics data, including differential metabolites and pathways (e.g., L‑tyrosine, phenylalanine metabolism, PPAR signaling pathway).
