Kalapodi. Catalogue of Early Iron Age fine ware fabrics

The present catalogue provides an overview of macroscopic fabric groups that have been identified within the assemblage of Early Iron Age fine wares from excavations at the sanctuary of Kalapodi. It comprises a total of 45 fabric-typological groups and sub-groups distinguished by macroscopic properties and is illustrated by photographs of fresh breaks (macroscopic and microscopic) of 321 reference pieces. In its current form, the catalogue is intended to serve as a reference for basic visual fabric comparison and is aimed at anyone who is involved in the archaeological processing and study of Greek Early Iron Age pottery. Scientific data will supplement the catalogue in the second phase of the research programme.
