With the development of science and technology, Whole genome sequencing (WGS) or next-generation sequencing (NGS) has gradually become an important technical means for the scientific community to study bacterial resistance. As a novel gene sequencing technology, whole genome sequencing is a simple, efficient and rapid method for drug resistance analysis, which can quickly analyze and determine the known drug resistance genotypes and their mutations, and predict the unknown potential drug resistance mechanisms and drug resistance phenotypes. In recent years, with the application of whole genome sequencing technology in the field of bacterial resistance, scientists have made great progress with the help of this technology.The drug resistance gene and plasmid of a foodborne salmonella strain were analyzed by whole-genome sequencing. The results of the study were aimed to reveal the genetic evolution of drug resistance of Salmonella and provide theoretical basis for the monitoring of drug resistance of Salmonella.
