Genotype-by-sequencing (GBS) of Red Banded Stink Bug (Piezodorus guildinii) of US and Brazilian populations

This project aims to use single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), generated by the genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) methodology, to study five P. guildinii populations collecting in five locations in Brazil, and seven locations in the U.S. The primary goal of the project is to 1) to study how populations are connected at a fine and broad-scale, 2) improve the understanding of the dispersal patterns of P. guildinii populations, 3) studying how natural selection might have operated in different environmental conditions such as those found in North and South America.
