Tracking the release of polyhydroxylated fatty alcohols from avocado pulp powder during ex vivo digestion using the Simulator of the Human Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem (SHIME®)

This dataset contains 16S rRNA gene sequencing data generated from an in vitro gut fermentation model (SHIME®) evaluating the impact of avocado-derived polyhydroxylated fatty alcohols (PFAs; avocadene and avocadyne). The model simulated colonic compartments under controlled conditions, with treatments including an avocado pulp matrix delivering PFAs alongside lipids and dietary fiber. The data represent microbial community composition and diversity across different colonic regions and treatment phases, enabling assessment of microbial shifts associated with PFA exposure and related metabolic interactions.
