Overview:
This dataset contains daily spore counts, and spore concentration (spores normalised per cubed metre of air) for each bioscout device in the BioScout x GRDC spore monitoring network. Please visit https://www.bioscout.com.au/grdc if would like access to the network to see the network in real-time.
There is also anonymised device location data to understand the regionality of disease pressure over time.

Column Name
Description
spore_concentration
This is the concentration of spores per metre cubed of air sampled for that days' sample. The BioScout SporeScout samplers have a flow metre to measure how much air is taken into the unit in order to better calculate the 'normalised' concentration fo spores between different samples. Each sample may consist of different lengths of time and volumes of air depending on location, the target air particulates to sample, and other environmental impacts that change the optimal sampling period the devices are configured for.
spore_count
The absolute count of observed spores for that particular sample, this doesn't take into account sampling time, it simply sums the total number of spores identified.
date
The date the sample represents.
device_name
The device name seen in the grdc network when logging into BioScout.
longitude
The anonymised longitude of the device, these values are relative to the locations of the device but have been obfuscated to help protect property owners.
latitude
The anonymised latitude of the device, these values are relative to the locations of the device but have been obfuscated to help protect property owners.
spore_name
The name of the spore / disease being monitored for this particular count and concentration value.
