"Measurement Contamination and Spurious Curvature in Gender Inequality Panels"

Replication materials for a study of two modelling practices in the applied gender-inequality literature: (i) including components of a composite index as regressors, and (ii) inferring turning points from quadratic terms in fixed-effects panels. The package contains the compiled panel of 28 countries over 2000–2023, the GDI parity sub-components, and a single Python script that reproduces every table and figure in the paper, including the measurement-contamination comparison and the non-parametric (LOWESS) diagnostic. Source data are public: UNDP Human Development Report 2025, World Bank WDI, and the Conference Board Total Economy Database.
