16S sequences from geothermal soil

Bar-coded pyrosequencing of 16S from prokaryotic microbial communities in a Yellowstone National Park alkaline siliceous geothermal diatomaceous soil crust. Two runs are included (Prok_454-1 & Prok_454-2) from different lanes of a 454 Ti 1/2 plate. Bar-codes are repeated in the two sets of files, but reference different samples. The study was conducted to: 1) describe the microbial community of a novel system; and 2) investigate spatial heterogeneity patterns of prokaryotic soil microbial communities.
