VPRS 17386 Register of Patients Admitted to Labour Ward, Midwifery Department

This series contains Registers of patients admitted to Labour Ward. These were maintained in addition to Labour Ward Case Books, VPRS 17385 and Birth Registers, VPRS 17383. The information recorded in them is also to be found in either the Labour Ward Case Books or Birth Registers, although the Registers (called Indexes) fill six years of the 22 year gap between the last of the "Historic Volumes" (1904) and the first Labour Ward 30 volume (1926). Only three volumes are extant and it is unknown for what overall period they were maintained. Series History Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the RWH Archives in RWH series number 0159.
