Bevis Marks Dataset v.2
收藏资源简介:
This update of the Bevis Marks Dataset is a supplement to my recent research on neonatal and infant mortality in the London Sephardi community in the second half of the eighteenth century. An article based on this research is due to be published in Local Populations Studies 114/115 in late November 2025. The original version (Bevis Marks Prosopography 1767-1802 v.1) was created to accompany my M.A. dissertation in History at the Open University (2024). That study combined a family reconstitution of the London Sephardi community (more commonly known as Bevis Marks, after the street on which the community’s synagogue was inaugurated in 1701) with relief and synagogal tax data from Bevis Marks’s Annual Accounts between 1767 and 1802. This update (Bevis Marks Dataset v.2) corrects some entries and adds additional fields relevant to demographic analysis. While the tables now contain entries for 1645-1881 (Births) and 1657-1899 (Burials), nominal linkages have only been made for 1767-1802. I will extend linkages to the wider chronology in a later version. The underlying database was created in FilemakerPro 19. For ease of dissemination, the main tables have been exported as (.csv) files. The PDF Guide to the dataset has not been updated.
