Heavy metal bioremediation based on heavy metal remediation genes is one of the most effective and attractive ways to deal with heavy metal contamination. Remediation efficiency and high stress resistance ability of remediation genes are critical factors for microbial remediation applications. Most researches are focused on culturable microbes, but more than 99% microbes are noncluturable. Therefore, searching high efficiency and high stress resistance genes are important in microbial heavy metal remediation process. In this study, novel high remediation and stress resistance genes in nonculturable microbes were explored from heavy metal contaminated soil samples by establishing comparative metatranscriptomics and metagenomics libraries.
