In this study, we analyzed the genomic footprint of introgression and balancing selection across diverse breeds of domestic goat, their wild ancestor bezoar, and ibex species. Whole-genome sequencing of 33 newly individuals, including goat-ibex hybrids, revealed shared genetic variations between wild and domestic goats. The findings underscore the dynamic interplay between adaptive introgression and selection of functionally relevant genes, highlighting their critical roles in shaping the resilience and evolutionary trajectories of Capra populations across changing environments.
