Both trehalase activation and the L-citrulline uptake rate are expressed as percentage compared to that in the wild type strain. For transport, the average of three independent experiments was taken and standard deviation is shown. For trehalase, the average of the maximal activity (with subtraction of the mean of the blank values) after addition of 10 mM L-citrulline, was compared between the deletion strain and the wild type.
