Monthly precipitation dataset for the Qilian Mountains, 1961-2022

This dataset includes monthly precipitation data of Qilian Mountains and its surrounding areas from January 1961 to December 2022, with a spatial resolution of 0.01 ° × 0.01 °, geographical range is 93 ° E-105 ° E, 35 ° N-41 ° N. The file naming convention is Year Month. tif, where Year represents the year and Month represents the month. Each pixel value represents the precipitation value of the corresponding area, in millimeters. The original precipitation data are from the National Meteorological Station in the Qilian Mountains and its surrounding areas, and the weighing rain and snow gauge deployed by the Ecological Hydrology Experimental Research Station in the Upper Reaches of the Heihe River of the Northwest Institute of Ecological Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before use, invalid and outliers were removed from the original data, and observation data from different rain gauges were unified. The transfer function derived from WMO was used for correction. Using NSE and RMSE as data quality evaluation indicators, the mean NSE is 0.82 and the mean RMSE is 16.26
