The company operates terminal retail stores across multiple districts and counties in Shanghai for selling water flosser products, and regularly supplies goods to these stores. By establishing mathematical models, we can forecast the next-quarter sales volume based on each store's previous-quarter sales performance, and generate supply strategy recommendations for the next quarter, which serves three purposes: 1. For the company itself: The company can reasonably arrange production plans and allocate resources to ensure on-time delivery and meet market supply demands; it can also scientifically formulate sales strategies and marketing promotion plans. For example, combined with regional divisions in Shanghai (such as districts and counties) based on the forecast results, the company can analyze and identify target markets, develop pricing strategies, design promotional activities, and collaborate with sales channels to increase the product's market share and sales performance. 2. For each terminal retail store within Shanghai: This data can help these stores reasonably forecast market demand, carry out effective inventory management and goods turnover operations; 3. For the industrial chain: This data can be used as a reference by other water flosser manufacturers, upstream and downstream manufacturers in the water flosser-related industrial chain, or manufacturers of similar daily necessities to understand the product's market demand trend, providing auxiliary basis for decision-making in business activities such as R&D, production, and marketing. 1. Data Collection: Collect daily sales data of water flosser products at each offline retail store within the Shanghai region. 2. Data Processing: Summarize the monthly sales volumes X1, X2, X3 of each store in the current quarter, as well as the total quarterly sales volume Z. 3. Next-quarter Sales Volume Forecast: The forecasted next-quarter sales volume Y of a store is calculated as: Y = (X2/X1 + X3/X2) * 0.5 * Z, where X1 is the sales volume in the first month of the current quarter, X2 is the sales volume in the second month, X3 is the sales volume in the third month, and Z is the total quarterly sales volume of the store; the final value of Y shall be rounded to an integer. 4. Data Analysis: Let P = the forecasted next-quarter sales volume Y of the store minus the total quarterly sales volume Z. Different supply strategies shall be adopted for different stores based on the value of P: - If P > 60, increase the supply volume; - If P < 30, reduce the supply volume; - If 30 ≤ P ≤ 60, maintain the supply volume.
