[IO Islamic 2684] Farîd-aldîn's Mathnawîs

(Oxford: India Office, 1903): volume 1,</strong> <strong>number 2684 here with notations and hyperlinks].</strong> 1034 Six mathnawîs by Farîd-aldîn ‘Aṭṭâr. This splendid old copy, written by Muḥammad Ḥâjî bin Bâbâ Ḥâjî between A.H. 807 and 812 (A.D. 1405-1410), contains: 1.Ushturnâma or Shuturnâma (شترنامه), on fol. 1^b. 2.Asrârnâma, on fol. 116^b. This part is dated the 20th of Rajab, A.H. 807 (A.D. 1405, January 22). 3^a.Ilâhînâma, on fol. 196^b, beginning here: بنام كردگار هفت افلاك كه پيدا كرد آدم از كفى خاك Dated the 20th of Ramaḍân, A.H. 807 (A.D. 1405, March 22). 4.Bulbulnâma, on fol. 279^b, beginning (without the usual ḥamd): همه مرگان بدرگاه سليمان شدند و داشتند از بلبل افغان 3^b.Khuṭba-i-Ilâhînâma (خطبۀ الهى نامه), the usual introduction to the Ilâhînâma, left out in 3^a, on fol.283^b, beginning (with a slight modification in the second hemistich, see Rieu ii. p. 576^a): الهى نامه را آغاز كردم – در گنج سعادت باز كردم 5.Muṣibatnâma, on fol. 289^b. 6.Waṣlatnâma, on fol. 386^b. This part is dated the first of Dhû-alḳa’dah, A.H. 812 (A.D. 1410, March 7). This MS. appears to be the first part or first volume only of a complete collection or كلّيّات of Farîd-aldîn ‘Aṭṭâr’s works, as the index on ff. 1^a and 1^b (margin-column) indicates. A more detailed, although not complete, index of the contents of this MS. is found on one of the fly-leaves. Bibliotheca Leydeniana.
