24 Nautical Mile Contiguous Zone This feature layer, utilizing National Geospatial Data Asset (NGDA) data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), displays contiguous zones adjacent to and beyond territorial seas that extend seaward up to 24 nautical miles from their baselines. According to NOAA, “The contiguous zone of the United States includes the waters off of all U.S. coastal states, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and any other territory or possession over which the United States exercises sovereignty.” Atlantic Coast and Gulf of Mexico Data currency: This cached Esri federal service is checked weekly for updates from its enterprise federal source (24NM Contiguous Zone) and will support mapping, analysis, data exports and OGC API – Feature access.
