Eligible but Not Enrolled in SNAP
收藏资源简介:
Used for Human Services Index story map. The number of households receiving SNAP benefits came from the Colorado Benefits Management System (2020-2024). Unique household addresses were geocoded and aggregated to the Census Tract level. The 5-year average was used from 2020-2024. The total number of households below poverty came from table S2201 from the American Community Survey 5-year estimates (2020-2024). It should be noted that to be eligible for SNAP, a household's gross monthly income must be at or below 130% of the federal poverty guidelines. The Census defines poverty as the number or percent of families that have income below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. The difference in the poverty definition between SNAP and Census, as well as the Census estimates' margin of error, could result in a negative number of households eligible but not receiving SNAP benefits.
