Supplementary dataset to publication: Molecular Characterization of IS1111-positive tick pools from Punjab, Pakistan reveals Clade C Coxiella-like endosymbionts

This dataset supplements the article in the journal Veterinary Sciences "Molecular Characterization of IS1111-positive tick pools from Punjab, Pakistan, reveals Clade C Coxiella-like endosymbionts" by Muhammad Husnain Ali Alvi, Abdul Rehman, Tariq Jamil, Ard M. Nijhof, Carola Sauter-Louis, Franz J. Conraths, Katja Mertens-Scholz. This retrospective study of archived tick DNA samples collected from ruminants species in 2013-2014 from Punjab, Pakistan provides the molecular evidence of Coxiella like endosymbionts (CLE) in IS1111 positive ticks. These results reinforce the importance of confirmatory sequencing and multi locus approaches for accurate discrimination between C. burnetii and CLE in ticks. The dataset contains addtional table of the tick DNA sample metadata, qPCR characteristics for Standard (Ct values), controls and efficiency, Sequence qualty metadata and information of reference sequences of Coxiella burnetii, Coxiella-like endosymbionts (CLE), Rickettsiella endosymbionts, and Legionella pneumophila. The supplementary data also contains additional table of sequence similarity metrics of IS1111 and 16s rRNA gene. This dataset is provided to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and open access to the underlying data used in the molecular differentiation of C. burnetii and CLE.
