Database of fine root functional traits and root biomass in the top- and subsoil of the Loess Plateau

The dataset contains fine root functional traits and root biomass in both topsoil and subsoil, as well as their soil drivers, across 111 sites in five types of dryland ecosystems: grasslands, woodlands, alfalfa pastures, Caragana shrublands, and croplands, located on the Loess Plateau of China.
