Vaginal microbiome composition in HIV-positive women undergoing treatment of cervical transformation zone in a screen and treat programme in Zambia

Vaginal microbiome composition was evaluated in 46 WLHV selected for either ablative or excisional treatment of cervix due to positive screening test (visual inspection with acetic acid; VIA) just before treatment and three- and twelve-months post-treatment. Microbiome composition was assessed by 16S rRNA sequencing and was correlated with the treatment outcomes.
