Tri-City Nutritional Capability Accessibility Index (NCAI) Dataset: Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul (2024–2025) Overview This dataset contains the processed spatial, demographic, and food-environment data used in the manuscript: "Beyond Proximity: Nutritional Capability and the Spatial Architecture of Food Insecurity in Hyper-Dense High-Income Asian Cities — A Tri-City Comparative Analysis of Hong Kong, Singapore, and Seoul" The dataset provides the computed Nutritional Capability Accessibility Index (NCAI) at the neighborhood level for three cities: Hong Kong: 18 District Council districts Singapore: 241 inhabited URA subzones Seoul: 426 administrative dong Contents The archive contains the following directories: data/ hk/: Processed Hong Kong demographics and food outlet counts by district. seoul/: Processed Seoul demographics and NCAI scores by dong. (Note: Raw Singapore hawker centre and OSM data were processed dynamically; the final NCAI scores are in the results/ folder). results/ hk_ncai_results.csv: Final NCAI scores and spatial statistics for Hong Kong. sg_ncai_results.csv: Final NCAI scores and spatial statistics for Singapore. seoul_summary_stats.txt: Summary statistics and Erreygers concentration index for Seoul. analysis/ Python scripts (01_fetch_hk_data.py through 07_seoul_ncai_pipeline.py) used to acquire raw data, compute the Enhanced Two-Step Floating Catchment Area (E2SFCA) metrics, and run spatial econometrics (Moran's I, LISA). figures/ High-resolution PNG maps and scatterplots generated from the analysis. Data Sources and Attribution This dataset was constructed by aggregating and processing publicly available data from the following authoritative sources: Hong Kong: Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) open data portal; Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) 2021 Population By-Census; Commission on Poverty (2020). Singapore: National Environment Agency (NEA) Hawker Centres dataset via data.gov.sg; Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Master Plan 2019 subzone boundaries; Department of Statistics (SingStat). Seoul: Korean Statistical Information Service (KOSIS); Seoul Open Data Plaza; Seoul Institute Urban Monitoring 2024. Cross-city: OpenStreetMap (OSM) via Overpass API for supplementary food retail POIs.
