In microbiome study, DNA extraction from fecal samples is a crucial experimental step that can affect microbiome profile. Because QIAamp DNA Stool Mini Kit, one of the most commonly used DNA extraction kit, is no longer manufactured, we conducted this study to evaluate whether a newly released kit, QIAamp PowerFecal Pro DNA Kit, produces comparable microbiome results with those from the discontinued kit.
