资源简介:
Transitioning from military service to the civilian workforce is one of the most significant stressors a professional can face. As researchers, we want to know: Does a veteran’s well-being improve or decline over time? But here is the problem: In longitudinal research, the meaning of a psychological construct can shift for participants between data waves. If a veteran interprets 'Happy' differently after six months in a civilian cubicle than they did on their first day, we are no longer measuring the same construct. Todd Little (2024) refers to this as the 'Moving Target' problem. Without establishing longitudinal measurement invariance, we can't tell if a change in scores is a real psychological shift or just an artifact of measurement error. This study validates our 'ruler' before we use it to measure the journey.
