Alexander Lvovich Mints, Academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences, covers various areas of radio engineering development: design and construction of powerful radio stations operating in various frequency ranges, development of electronic lamps for short and medium wave transmitters, work in the field of radiotelephony and television, creation of particle accelerators and radar systems. In 1950 the USSR Academy of Sciences awarded the Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences the A. S. Popov Gold Medal\u201d for his outstanding work in the field of high-power radio engineering and other areas of radio engineering.\u201d In 1958 A. L. Mints was elected a full member of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
