RNA interference (RNAi) is a major antiviral defense in insects. During Dengue virus (DENV) infection, the small interfering RNA (siRNA) pathway controls viral replication in mosquitoes. Our results shed light on when and where RNAi pathways are activated and whether they contribute to the midgut barrier of infection in Aedes mosquitoes.Here, we deep sequenced samples from infected and uninfected whole mosquitoes, midguts and carcasses. RNAs were selected by DENV viral load and pooled for deep sequencing.
