The sponge-associated microbiomes of the high-microbial abundance species C. reniformis and the low-microbial-abundance species S. cunctatrix were sequenced. Sponges were sampled from two sites in the Mediterranean Sea, including a control site and a CO2 vent. Aim of this study was to determine wether the sponge microbiome is changing in response to ocean acidification.
