Eisenia fetida Transcriptome or Gene expression

Benzo (a) pyrene is one of the carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons polluting the environment. In an attempt to identify molecular markers for the presence of benzo(a)pyrene, E.fetida, a soil organism was exposed to 10mg/Kg for few generations (eight months). mRNA was isolated from both treated and control organisms and sequenced using Illumina next generation sequencing. From the sequence, transcripts were de novo assembled using Trinity software. The deferentially expressed genes were identified which to be developed into molecular markers.
