资源简介:
Introduction: Stroke is one of the major causes of fatality and disability all over the world. Disabilities after stroke in substantial structure and metabolic function in the hemiparetic leg main leads to unilateral or bilateral deficit and can contribute to involvement of various systemic involvement along with musculoskeletal and neurological disabilities. Patients suffering from stroke are prone to falling down because of improper balance functioning. Their daily life activities are restricted due to hemi paresis. It was hypothesized that the rehabilitation protocol would produce significant changes in balance and gait parameters in stroke survivors. Method: In this study 20 participants were included with sub-acute stroke with age between 35-85 years. Pre assessment was taken for the outcome measures spatial parameters of gait (step length, stride length and cadence) and balance were observed by performing Time Up and Go Test and Berg Balance Score. Intervention was included PNF, Frankel’s exercises, Rood’s approach, Pelvic bridging, Sit to stand, Kneeling, Dynamic quadriceps strengthening, Standing with support, Single leg weight, Walking with assistance, Squat exercise and Figure of 8 training given for 4 weeks and all the outcome measure were assessed again post intervention. Result: P values for all the outcome measures were found significant. Conclusion: The rehabilitation protocol was effective in improving the balance and gait of the patient.
