The Inonotus obliquus genome is sequenced to study the mechanisms of pathogen-host interactions in Hymenochaetales.Comparative genomics between I.obliquus and other family members from Hymenochaetales is carried out to elucidate the evolution within the family, and between I.obliquus and its host Betula pendula to detect signs of co-evolution.
